Leftover from my last to-do:
Perhaps you’ve heard of the quality control issues with the King’s motor. If not, let me tell you: BEWARE! Many people are reporting that their motors do not work properly or at all, right out of the box. A sampling of problems: head won’t turn, arms won’t expand, motor won’t turn off, lights don’t work, [...]
MIB (for now), but having this guy means I can make a custom out of my incomplete OJR one! The “Present” is Figure Set #1 (Terrestrial Soldiers).
MIB for now and (probably) ever. A sequel to this box set would have been nice, but instead we got the Monthly Zoids Graphics series. If you can find those, you win!
MIB for now and (probably) ever. Before this one there was a “Helic Memorial Box” with the first five whiteheads, but I never picked that one up, since I already have about a billion of each of those kit. All of these box sets were limited, and that set was a Toy’s Dream Project limited, [...]
I’ve been neglecting the missile box part of this unit, because I find the gun more flexible on its own—it can go almost anywhere! The whole unit is made for Elephander or Blade Liger, though it definitely looks better on the former.
One of the early “brand new” designs of the NJR. Very sleek and the jet turbines everywhere are a nice touch.
MIB for now. I was going to skip this one, but it was half off, which made me reconsider! Dimetrodon is a fun build, with a surprisingly small number of pieces—only three sprues (plus the famous “W” sprue for tiny guns) and the body halves. There is a lot of detail hidden in this kit, [...]
This one’s mostly MIB—my OJR version is borrowing a couple pieces right now. Priorities, you know. They’re identical, except for the clear parts (orange here) and caps (grey here).
This poor guy’s been in contruction limbo for years. When I first got it (back in 2003), I used the white armor for a plastic swap but didn’t touch the other parts, so it’s never been built stock. Unfortunately I also gave the armor a terrible panel lining job, which I am having trouble toning [...]
When this one came out, it was good news for everyone who had missed out on CPs 22 and 23. I originally only got it for its swapping potential, but recently a lack of new kits drove me to revert this one to its stock configuration. If you like colors, this one has them. All [...]
This is an odd bird. For its alternate mode it splits into a weapon (giant shuriken!) and armor for Murasame Liger. Since I don’t have a Murasame, I’m trying to think of customizing ideas…
A big part of the Rebirth line seems to be re-tooling and updating old designs. This one takes Brachios and makes it into a plesiosaur, which in turn makes me very happy. In the ancient times (2001), a hobby magazine showed a Brachios-to-Plesio kitbash (one, two), so I’ve been hoping for an official bash for [...]
I had an OJR, got tired of it (and needed money), sold it, regretted it, then got this bargain priced reissue. The original had magenta caps and blue clear bits. Earlier this week I finally summoned the energy required to do the panel lining and detailing that was so badly needed. Before, the undercarriage was [...]
Well, I had to build it!
MIB for now.
MIB for now. The OJR version has chrome guns and a cooler color scheme, but also costs ten times as much, so I’ll stick with this one. Bummer that neither version had clear eyes.
MIB for now. For some reason, this one’s box art (like the box art for Gorhecks) shows an opaque canopy. This filled my heart with fear when they came out, but rest assured the canopy inside the box is clear.
MIB for now. A nice reissue of one of the rarest OJRs.
